First focus group!

 I've finally done my first focus group! It feels amazing to have one done and dusted and as I said to the participants at the end, it was great after months of just reading and researching to actually talk to people and hear what they had to say on my topic. 

The numbers weren't exactly what I had planned for in module 2 but the discussion was really good and flowed well. Some of the answers in the group were not what I was expecting which has given me a lot to think about. 

My question is all about what barriers exist for maintaining vocal health in our industry. While the participants talked about overly demanding schedules and vocal concerns, at the end of the day they seemed to agree that the only real barrier that existed was our own attitude towards our vocal health and the choices we make. This has got me investigating Ted Talks on choosing our mindsets and attitudes. Not quite sure what I think about it all yet, just letting it sink in while I prepare for the next focus group. It will be very interesting to see if this comes up in the next one!
